The Role

We're looking for a dedicated Health, Safety, Fire & Legionella Consultant to deliver expert consultancy and risk assessment services across a variety of sectors, including property, manufacturing, retail, and banking.

Working closely with a supportive and collaborative team, you’ll ensure our clients achieve exceptional results and maintain robust, proactive safety cultures.

This role is home-based at the location advertised, involving regular travel (typically within 2 hours from your home) and occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake comprehensive Health & Safety, Fire and Legionella Risk Assessments, including site visits for assessment, consultancy, and sampling.
  • Maintain accurate records and input relevant data into our digital systems, and deliver accurate, high-quality documents, risk assessments, and schematics.
  • Deliver expert advice and consultancy tailored specifically to client requirements, ensuring thorough, actionable compliance outcomes for clients.
  • Stay up to date with legislative changes and best practice guidance,  continuously developing your expertise.
  • Maintain high levels of professional integrity, discretion, and customer service.
  • Promote Ligtas services and identify new opportunities during client engagement.
  • Support junior colleagues and share knowledge to strengthen internal capability.

Are You the Right Fit?

We're seeking enthusiastic individuals who:

  • Hold a recognised UK-based Health and Safety qualification such as a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Have proven experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments & Legionella Risk Assessments.
  • Are strong communicators, both verbally and in writing.
  • Can thrive in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
  • Demonstrate conscientiousness, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach.
  • Hold membership in a professional body (e.g., IOSH).
  • Are flexible and willing to travel regularly, including overnight stays as required

 

Competency Requirements:

Essential:

  • UK-based Health and Safety Degree, Diploma, or equivalent (e.g., NEBOSH).
  • Demonstrable experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments, Legionella Risk Assessments and water hygiene services in a variety of environments.
  • City & Guilds / WMSoc / BOHS equivalent qualification in Legionella risk assessment (minimum).
  • Excellent understanding of ACOP L8, HSG274 part 2, and associated legislation.
  • Familiarity with current health, safety, and fire safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and client-focused approach.
  • Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., IOSH).

 

Desirable:

  • Working towards Chartered membership of IOSH.
  • Previous experience in consultancy.
  • Fire safety qualifications or Fire Door Inspection experience.
  • Experience with specialist high-risk management services.
  • Qualification or experience in water management.
