Course Overview
The NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals is an advanced health and safety qualification. It was updated to a new specification in May 2023, known as the NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma.
The course is made up of three units and covers legislation, hazardous agents, equipment, and workplace safety. It’s assessed with 1 workplace assignment and 2 case studies.
- DI1 Workplace health and safety principles
- DI2 Controlling workplace health issues
- DI3 Controlling workplace safety issues
Certification
The qualification units are assessed in the following way:
- DI1 – Know – workplace health and safety principles- Assignment - workplace-based tasks together with simulations reflective statements and a research topic
- DI2 – Do – controlling workplace health issues- Scenario-based case study
- DI3 – Do – controlling workplace safety issues- Scenario-based case study
Who Is The Course For?
The NEBOSH Level 6 International Diploma is an advanced qualification. You should already understand fundamental health and safety principles such as risk assessment, hazard control, accident investigation, and key regulations.
You’ll also need to have a good level of communication to critically analyze information and apply it to any given scenario.
We always recommend taking the NEBOSH International Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety before taking the International Diploma to ensure you can meet the demands of the course.

- promote a positive health and safety culture
- develop and audit health and safety management systems
- maintain individual and organisational health and safety competence
- manage contractors and supply chains to ensure compliance with health and safety standards

Learner Eligibility
All courses will be presented in English and so all delegates will need to speak, understand, and write English. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 7.0 or higher in IELTS tests.
