Continual professional development
At Ligtas we encourage the continual professional development of all our staff. So, as part of that learning, we encourage staff to attend courses in health and safety.
After all, we have a proven track record of maintaining high standards of course delivery, we hold NEBOSH Gold learning partner status as well as IOS 9001 accreditation for our training services.
When Joseph one of our staff members opted to attend the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety course, we were delighted.
Joseph stated,
I sat the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, I’ve got a keen interest in the subject, as well as an aspiration of developing into a Health and Safety position, and personally, after completing the IOSH Managing Safely, I believe the NEBOSH was a perfect qualification to get my teeth into, to develop a deeper understanding of occupational Health and Safety, both in theory and in practice.
I opted for the online option, which had its’ own benefits and drawbacks. Some days it was tough to find the time or motivation after a day’s work or activities to really concentrate on topics like the different types of ionizing radiation, forklifts, and elements of scaffolding, though the course notes depth and detail and the length of time I had to read at leisure and slowly absorb was a great benefit that were demonstrated with the exam sitting.
I felt the papers went really well, one or two questions I had to really think about though nothing I thought overly taxing. The training team had provided me with several past papers for the NGC1 and GC2 to review, which really helped me to understand the types of questions, how they are worded and, how to best answer them in accordance with the requirements of the mark scheme.
