PLA Funding

Exploring opportunities

Securing funding for training can be a crucial lifeline for individuals facing redundancy from skilled positions within the steel industry. As you take this next step in your life it can be a daunting prospect because of the uncertainty of what the future holds. But upskilling through training and additional qualifications can significantly elevate your profile and give you a distinct advantage when seeking new employment opportunities.

Fully Funded Courses

The good news is there are funding options available to support individuals like yourself in upskilling and preparing for a new career path.

A Personal Learning Account (PLA)

A PLA is a new initiative from the Welsh Government offering access to free and flexible courses to gain relevant skills and qualifications needed to develop your career.

Ligtas are proud supporters of PLA, and if you decide to train with us, we can provide experience, expertise, and technology to keep you up to date and develop skills and competency. This ensures you become more effective in your future roles.

How Can funding be used?

It can be used towards multiple courses, but courses must not overlap and will need to be applied for separately.
